Jay Beachus, Facilitator

Jay BeachusJay Beachus is a social psychologist, person-centred therapist and trauma counsellor who provides Escaping Victimhood participants with a greater understanding of the nature of trauma and how people can be affected by unexpected and shocking events. Before setting up her own business, Jay was Assistant Clinical Director of the Trauma After Care Trust (1996 – 2002) and has delivered training on trauma to a wide range of agencies.  Jay has been a partner in Disaster Aftercare Services (DAS) since 2002. She has treated a range of trauma sufferers, working with public sector agencies, such as the police, fire, and ambulance services and the military, as well as with industry and charities. Jay has also lectured extensively on post traumatic stress. Born in the USA Jay has travelled a great deal and has particular interests in women’s studies, person-centred conflict resolution, the peace movement, Native American history, and indigenous studies.
