Other organisations working with victims of crime:

Each region has a Police and Crime Commissioner (London has the Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime instead), who is responsible now, for commissioning the majority of services for victims of crime.

Victim Support
They are the national charity giving free and confidential help to victims of crime, witnesses, their family, friends and anyone else affected across England and Wales. Victim Support deliver the Homicide Service to those bereaved through murder or manslaughter,  post April 2010.

Road Peace
They are a national charity for road crash victims. Their members include those who have been bereaved or injured in crashes and also those who are concerned about road danger.

SAMM Abroad exists specially for people in the UK whose loved ones are the victims of murder or manslaughter abroad.

Child Bereavement  UK  is the UK’s leading charity that supports families and educates professionals both when a child dies and when a child is bereaved.

The Centre for Trauma, Resilience and Growth
The Centre for Trauma, Resilience and Growth is a partnership between the Trauma Service situated within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and the Research Group for the Study of Trauma, Resilience and Growth within the University of Nottingham – this brings together staff from the School of Sociology and Social Policy, School of Education and the Institute for Work, Health and Organisations to form an interdisciplinary partnership dedicated to therapy, education, consultancy and research related to trauma.

Winston’s Wish
Winston’s Wish is a childhood bereavement charity and the largest provider of services to bereaved children, young people and their families in the UK. They offer practical support and guidance to families, professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child.

The Compassionate Friends
TCF is a charitable organisation of bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents dedicated to the support and care of other bereaved parents, siblings, and grandparents who have suffered the death of a child/children. They offer support both directly to bereaved families and indirectly by fostering understanding and good practice amongst professionals concerned with child death and by increasing public awareness.
